Ben Goddard was presented with the special award at Care UK’s national Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards ceremony, held on 19th November at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire.
Judges described Ben Goddard as having an “exceptionally caring manner” and his approach with relatives gave great confidence that their loved one is receiving the best possible care. Ben was also praised for his attention to detail, keeping relatives fully informed about their loved one and involving families in the care planning process.
Michelle Webster, home manager at Cedrus House, said: “We are all thrilled that Ben picked up the ‘Carer of the Year’ award. He is a valuable member of the Cedrus House team and I’m delighted that his dedication and commitment to caring for residents and their families here has been recognised on a national scale. Ben is a thoroughly deserving winner.”
Cedrus House was one of three Suffolk care homes to receive an award at the RCS Stars ceremony. Others were Cleves Place in Haverhill, which won an award for ‘Great Dementia Care’ and Prince George House which won an award for ‘Outstanding Leadership’.
