The team at the care home is going to open its doors on Tuesday 22nd March and invite those in the local community to attend the session.
An initiative from the Alzheimer’s Society, ‘dementia friends’ is the biggest ever programme designed to change public perceptions and encourage better understanding of what it means to live well with dementia.
Andrew Jarman, said: “I am very passionate about the role ‘dementia friends’ plays in promoting more positive attitudes to dementia. It is vital we talk openly about the condition, and it is also important that local communities are supportive of those living with dementia – as well as their loved ones and carers. We look forward to opening our doors to what promises to be an insightful and inspiring event for the local community.”
