Forrester Court care home invites people in London to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Forrester Court care home in London, is inviting local people to visit the home on Cirencester Street on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-3.30pm, the team at Forrester Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

The theme of this year’s event at Forrester Court is a carnival fiesta inspired by the Rio Olympics. There will be music and entertainment to help get everyone in the party spirit and complimentary finger food and refreshments. There will also be the opportunity to take a tour of the home and meet the Care UK team.  

Jemma Craig Dressekie, home manager at Forrester Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Forrester Court has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of London to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Forrester Court will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
