St Vincent’s House care home celebrates unveiling of cinema and tea room

Home news

Beatrice Gale, the oldest resident at St Vincent’s House, was given the honour of officially opening the new cinema and tea room at the care home in Hammersmith.

The Care UK team welcomed friends, family and local people to the care home on Queen Caroline Street and celebrated the start of a new era at St Vincent’s House with 102-year-old Beatrice cutting the ribbon to the newly-updated areas of the home.

To coincide with the celebrations, guests were invited to join in craft activities hosted by St Paul’s Church. There was a party atmosphere throughout the afternoon with live music from Martyn Halsey, who entertained with classics from the 1940s and 50s, and Fiona Robson, who performed 1960’s favourites as well as sing-along-songs from popular musicals.

Adeyemi Salawu, home manager at Care UK’s St Vincent’s House, said: “We have built a warm, welcoming community here at St Vincent’s House with everything in place so we can provide the highest standards of care, we are thrilled to now enhance our offering with a cinema and tea room. These wonderful new spaces will certainly enrich the daily experiences of residents, and will support them in continuing to lead sociable, active and fulfilled lives.

“I know residents are looking forward to spending afternoons relaxing in the tea room enjoying home-made cakes, and they are all excited to see their favourite films on the big screen. We were delighted so many people joined us to celebrate the grand unveiling and Beatrice performed her official duties with great ceremony.”

St Vincent’s House is a purpose-designed care home designed to deliver the very best standards of care. The home offers a range of services including residential care, nursing, specialist dementia care and respite care.
