Everyone enjoyed a barbecue prepared by Cedrus House head chef Martin Smith, live music, balloon modelling and a visit from Elvis.
Michelle Webster, home manager at Cedrus House, said: “Our first birthday event was brilliant fun and we’re so pleased that so many relatives, friends and members of the local community could join us. It was also a great opportunity to look back at some of the exciting activities we have enjoyed in our first year, such as the Suffolk Artlink projects with our young neighbours at Cedars Park Community Primary School, taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and stirring Christmas puddings with the Stowmarket Royal British Legion. We’ve had a busy first year and we’re very much looking forward to what the coming years will bring.”
As well as enjoying a day of fun and entertainment, the local community were able to meet the team and take a tour of the care home and adjacent Cedrus Club, which provides flexible day care. For those that weren’t able to attend the home’s birthday celebration, Cedrus House will be opening its doors for a Rio carnival themed event for Care Home Open Day on 17th June, 2pm to 6pm.
Michelle continued: “Care Home Open Day is all about showcasing what life is like in a care home and what we do on a daily basis. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming the community on 17th June.”
