Jubilee House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
The Mayor Of Waverley, Councillor Chris Storey, was the guest of honour at the Jubilee House open day. Residents and visitors enjoyed a ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’, complete with live entertainment, and there was also a tempting homemade cake sale and tombola.
Totka Zhelyazkova, home manager at Jubilee House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Jubilee House, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
