Aberdeen care home team member wins national award

A local care home in Milltimber is celebrating after winning the new Engagement Award at a national awards ceremony. 

Tor-Na-Dee care home was one of three finalists in the category, and beat off stiff competition from over 100 Care UK homes nationally. 

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise and reward individual and team excellence across Care UK’s RCS division. The new Engagement Award recognises a home that has demonstrated exceptional skill in delivering outstanding performance in colleague engagement.

The panel of judges found that Tor-Na-Dee achieved an impressive 93% engagement score in a survey of residents, and home manager Maureen’s ability to engage her team means that she successfully retains a loyal and committed workforce.

Maureen Barrett, home manager at Tor-Na-Dee, said: “We are thrilled to have won Care UK’s new Engagement Award in this year’s national RCS Stars awards.

“We are honoured to be the first home to receive this accolade, and I can’t thank the wonderful Care UK team, who all played a part in this achievement, enough – as well as the residents at Tor-Na-Dee for their continued support.” 

Tor-Na-Dee provides a range of services from residential and specialist dementia care, to short term respite and sensitive end of life care.
