The residents and team members at Skylark House came prepared with stirring spoons and piping bags as they got busy in the kitchen baking a variety of tasty treats to raise money for a good cause.
Relatives and guests visiting the home were invited to enjoy a leisurely cuppa with residents, along with the homemade cakes – all of which were available for a small donation to Alzheimer’s Society. The team at Skylark House also took to the streets of Horsham where they visited nearby businesses including Budgens, Busy Bees Nursery, Envitia, and the Holbrook Club, to offer up their baked goods.
After a busy day of delivering cakes to the local community, the residents and team members at Skylark House raised over £120 for Alzheimer’s Society.
Skylark House home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “At Care UK, we are always looking at ways of showing our support for charities and the local community, and we are delighted that we were able to raise awareness for a very worthwhile cause.
“Overall it was a great success, and we were thrilled to visit so many of our neighbours to offer up the homemade cakes that the residents had spent time baking. We also want to give a special thank you to relative Lesley Irvine for her Malteser fridge cake, which was a big hit!”
