On Thursday 28th September, from 10am-12pm, the team at Scarlet House will open the doors to the care home on Westward Road for its free ‘A helping hand for carers’ event.
Following the launch of Care UK’s new guide for carers, A helping hand, the event aims to provide guidance and support to families caring for a loved one. It also explores the different ways in which carers can ensure they maintain their own health and wellbeing.
The team at Scarlet House will be on hand to discuss topics within the guide in further detail, and explain the different sources and support available to carers in Stroud.
After the event there will be a Q&A session, and those who attend will also have the opportunity to meet the team at Scarlet House and take a tour of the care home.
Scarlet House home manager, Pyela Mwale, said: “Here at Scarlet House we strongly believe that being informed and sharing experiences can make a real difference to those caring for a loved one. Similar events have proven to be incredibly popular, so we are looking forward to welcoming local people to Scarlet House for what promises to be an interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.
“As well as having the opportunity to discuss a number of topics with the team at Scarlet House, those who attend the event will also be able to pick up a copy of the new guide, A helping hand, to take away with them.”
