Fundraising is a piece of cake for Ventress Hall

Home news

On 29th September Ventress Hall opened its doors to welcome local people for a morning filled with tasty treats.

We took part in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in memory of the mother of one of our team who sadly passed away last year to cancer.

The team at Ventress Hall whipped up their best cakes and scones, which were available for everyone to enjoy for a small donation to Macmillan. With plenty of coffee and treats to hand, residents and guests enjoyed a relaxing morning full of catch-ups and chatting.  Raffles took place, as well as tombola, with prizes kindly donated by members of the Ventress Hall team raising a massive total of £2,720.

Home manager, Judy Wray said:  “We want to say a big thank you to the local people of Darlington who came along to the coffee morning to help us raise £2,720 for Macmillan Cancer Support – a charity close to the hearts of many here at Ventress Hall. To raise so much money is such a wonderful and heart-warming feeling

“We are always looking for opportunities to welcome the local community to the home, and the coffee morning proved to be a great success. The residents all had a fantastic time and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”
