New manager to take the helm of Pear Tree Court

Home news

Pear Tree Court has announced the appointment of a home manager ahead of the home’s opening early next year.

Ray Arnold will lead the team at  Pear Tree Court on Portsmouth Road, having previously spent over 11 years working in a number of roles across the care sector, including residential, nursing, and dementia care.

Ray has a variety of relevant qualifications in both the social care of adults and management, and he prides himself on setting high standards and being a good listener. His new position will see him take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Pear Tree Court, which will accommodate up to 72 residents.

During his career, Ray has focused his approach to management on training, motivating and mentoring team members to feel empowered and supported in their roles, to ensure the best possible care is provided by all.

Commenting on his new position, Ray said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the home manager at Pear Tree Court, and I am excited to lead a skilled and passionate team when we open the doors early next year.

“I believe that in order to be a successful home manager you need to be an excellent communicator, respectful, kind, and always willing to learn. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter here in Horndean, delivering the highest quality of care possible. More than anything, I’m looking forward to putting smiles on the residents’ faces, knowing they are having a joyful time at a happy home.”

Pear Tree Court has also welcomed the arrival of customer relations manager, Emily Forbes, who previously worked within the NHS and has a passion for helping others and adapting environments to suit individual needs.

Speaking about her new position, Emily said: “My previous role involved organising events and activities, and I am looking forward to continuing this with residents at Pear Tree Court. Most of all however, I am looking forward to meeting new families and residents and making them feel at home. I am excited to be joining a new team here in Horndean, and to welcoming residents through the doors in the near future.”
