On Friday 20th April, from 10am-4.30pm, the team at Sandfields will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Sandfields has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include traditional outdoor street party celebrations, linked with Jenna Court retirement development located opposite the home. There will be live music from singer Vaughn Davis. Visitors can also browse a variety of stalls selling crafts, food, toys, photography and there will be the opportunity to enjoy a Harley Davidson motorbike display, brought by the Rolling Hills group.
Deanna Lane, home manager at Sandfields, said: “Here at Sandfields we believe that building relationships with the local community is incredibly important in enriching the lives of residents, which is why we’re excited to be throwing a royal celebration as part of Care Home Open Day this year.”
“Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of getting to know our neighbours even better, and supporting intergenerational relationships between residents and younger guests. We have plenty of activities and entertainment on offer for all the family, so we hope that the local community will join our celebrations.”
