Join The Willows for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Home news

The Willows is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Sunday 22nd April, from 2pm-4pm, the team at The Willows will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-

friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, The Willows has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, the celebrations will include traditional afternoon tea plus live entertainment from cabaret star “Sadie” who will be performing “Swing into Spring”. There will also be complimentary refreshments and a chance to meet The Willows’ friendly team, including the home manager dressed up as The Willows’ very own Queen.

Julie Gregory, home manager at The Willows, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that span the generations.

“We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase everything The Willows has to offer, and the difference care homes can make to peoples’ lives and their wellbeing. Residents have enjoyed creating homemade crowns ahead of the royal celebration, and we look forward to welcoming the people of Middlesbrough for what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
