The team at Tiltwood welcomed the people of Cobham to enjoy Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative set up to develop lasting relationships between care homes and local communities, and to dispel common myths about care home life.
Tiltwood celebrated the open day by marking the Queen’s birthday, and were joined by the Queen’s favourite four-legged friends, from the Corgi Society Group, who performed an exciting ‘Corgi show’. Residents judged the ‘best corgi in show’ and named Queenie the winner.
There was also an entertaining performance from local singer, Denny Rich, as well as a games throughout the day and stalls for visitors to browse, including a cake sale and a tombola.
Emma Fox, home manager at Titltwood, concluded: “Care Home Open Day is all about building bridges with our local community, and showing what life in a care home is really like. We would like to say a big thank you to the people of Cobham for celebrating with us.”
