Ventress Hall celebrates Victory in Europe Day

Home news

On 8th May Ventress Hall celebrated VE (Victory in Europe) day which, on that same day in 1945, marked the acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces.

To celebrate the day, we invited Stewart from the Veteran’s Service to bring along many fantastic medals and memorable berets to reminisce with those residents who served in the war and those who remember what life was like during the war.

To finish off a wonderful day we had a sing-along of all the classic songs such as Dean Martin, Billie Holiday, Hank Williams and many more. The residents had a lovely day remembering the war and sharing their stories.
