Tor-Na-Dee celebrates a decade of memories

Home news

Residents and team members at Tor-Na-Dee were joined by local people for a special event to celebrate the home’s tenth birthday.

To commemorate the day, the team at Tor-Na-Dee hosted a cook-off contest. Residents and visitors were able to taste and judge a variety of exciting dishes from all around the world specially prepared by the home’s team members.

Guests were treated to a delicious birthday cake baked by Tor-Na-Dee’s chefs. Musical entertainment was provided by the Scottish Accordion Group and the some of the residents’ grandchildren played the saxophone and bagpipes, which kept the party atmosphere going all afternoon.

Maureen Barrett, home manager at Tor-Na-Dee, said:“It was wonderful to see so many members of the local community joined us to toast our special milestone. The whole team worked hard to  organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who celebrated our birthday with us for making the day extra special.

“It’s been a busy decade. We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a real home-from-home environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Tor-Na-Dee. We’re excited to see what’s in store for the next ten years and beyond!”
