On Saturday 27th July, from 2pm - 5pm, Milner House is opening its doors to host its first-ever Fun Dog Show with Horton Dogs.
Local pooch-owners and dog-lovers are invited to join residents for a day full of pawsome fun, which will feature various categories, including ‘lookalike’, ‘best story about your dog’, and ‘best trick’ contests.
There will also be an opportunity to meet with groomers and browse an array of stalls, while local dogs will have the opportunity to polish their athletic skills in a ‘have a go agility’ workshop.
Home manager at Milner House, Joe Patterson, said: “We’re excited to host the first ever Fun Dog Show and to welcome the people of Leatherhead, Ashtead and surrounding areas into our home. We know just how beneficial animal therapy can be for older people, especially for those living with dementia, as being close to animals can help lift a person’s mood and stimulate social interaction.
“It will also be great to see how our very own Canine Relations Manager, Red, will fare during the contests and challenges throughout the day – I know everyone here at Milner House hopes she comes out as the winner!”
