Home manager takes the helm at Bury St Edmunds care home

An outstanding care home in Bury St Edmunds has announced the appointment of its new home manager.

Bringing 40 years’ experience in the care sector to her new role, Melissa Cuevas will lead the team at Care UK’s Glastonbury Court, on Glastonbury Road.

A registered general nurse, Melissa worked in a number of hospitals and clinics in California, before joining Care UK in 2018. Working as a deputy home manager at another of Care UK’s Suffolk care homes, Melissa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. With personal experience of caring for a family member living with Alzheimer’s, Melissa is particularly passionate about supporting those living with the condition to continue to lead fulfilling lives.

Melissa’s new position will see her take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the care home, which accommodates up to 60 residents.

Commenting on her new position, Melissa said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the home manager here at Glastonbury Court, and to be leading such a well-regarded team. Care UK has values and principles that align with my own, and I’m looking forward to working in an environment that is warm, welcoming and friendly for residents and team members alike.”
