Orpington care home supports local hospice

An Orpington care home has donated £500 to its local hospice, St Christopher’s.

The team at Care UK’s Foxbridge House, on Sevenoaks Road, has made the donation to St Christopher’s Hospice, which provides care and support for people at the end of life in the local community.

St Christopher’s Hospice offers skilled and compassionate palliative care for 7,500 people each year. The charity aims to support people to live well, from offering gym sessions and art therapy to complementary therapies, social work and welfare support, end of life care and bereavement support.

Stella Barnes, Home Manager at Foxbridge House, said: “We are thrilled to be able to support such a worthy cause with a donation that will help people in our community.

“Here at Foxbridge House, we are passionate about providing quality care to people who need it, in addition to supporting independence wherever possible, and so it’s fantastic we can support a charity which has values that align with our own.

“We are pleased to have donated funds to the hospice and we hope we can continue to support their amazing work in the future.”

Christine Davies, a fundraiser  at St Christopher’s Hospice, said: “We are thrilled to have received this donation from the team at Foxbridge House, which will help  us to continue to provide high quality palliative care to people across the area. We rely on support from our community to enable us to be there when people need us most,  and any donation, big or small, truly makes a difference.

“On behalf of everyone at the hospice, I would like to thank the team at Foxbridge House for their generosity.”

Foxbridge House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
