An Edinburgh care home has not let the pandemic stop it from celebrating a very special Scottish tradition.
Residents and team members at Cairdean House, on Redford Road, dressed in their best tartan attire to mark Burns Night. Enjoying a special Burns Supper, created by the head chef, and a glass of Irn Bru, celebrations were well and truly in full swing.

Gillian Goodall, Home Manager at Cairdean House, said: “We had a fantastic time celebrating Burns Night here at Cairdean House.
“Taking part in traditional activities, that resident’s have enjoyed throughout their lives, can provide an opportunity for older people to reminisce, which can be incredibly beneficial, especially for those living with dementia.
“Everyone had a wonderful evening donning their Tam o’ shanter hats, tartan scarves and sipping on the national drink of Scotland – a good old Irn Bru!”
Cairdean House has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, as well as short-term respite.
