Residents at a care home in Crowborough have experienced a paw-some afternoon of pet therapy.
Care UK’s Heather View, on Beacon Road, welcomed loveable golden retriever Cooper, from Pets therapy who visited the home as part of its ongoing initiative to provide enriching and joyful experiences.

Cooper put a smile on faces as he explored the home, meeting many residents who gave him lots of cuddles and treats.
The care home introduced pet therapy because of the positive impact animal visits can have on residents’ wellbeing. It can encourage reminiscing about their own family pets and foster social interaction.
Sadie Hudson, Home Manager at Heather View, said: “We are always looking for fun and meaningful ways to brighten the residents’ days, and they love having Cooper around.
“Pet therapy can have a great impact on many residents; it can be very calming, it can spark conversation and it brings many smiles. Cooper has become a familiar face and is practically a part of the Heather View family!”
Heather View has been designed to deliver the highest standards of care and enable residents to live active and fulfilling lives. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. It offers plenty of space for activities and facilities include a pub, music room, hair and beauty salon and cinema.
