Wedding celebrations come home for the father of the bride

Understanding what matters most

Person-led care starts with understanding what matters most to each resident. For one resident, that meant being able to share in his daughter's wedding day.

When the team at Old Norse Lodge in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, learned that David's daughter, Christine, was getting married, they worked closely with the family to ensure he could be part of the celebrations.

David was unable to travel to the couple's legal ceremony at a local church, so the team brought the celebrations to him. The home was transformed for the celebration, complete with candles, a flower arch and a vicar.

When Christine approached us with her wedding request, we knew we had to do everything we could to make it happen for her and David. Seeing them celebrate together was a truly emotional moment for everyone.

Christine, who works as the home's hairdresser, has built close relationships with residents over the years and wanted them to be part of her special day, too. Guests enjoyed a wedding buffet specially prepared by the home's head chef before raising a toast to the newlyweds.
