Welcome to The Britten Club

The Britten Day Club in Lowestoft offers a welcoming, friendly, safe and secure place where older people can meet. Here, older people from the local community can enjoy a change of scene, do a variety of enjoyable activities, enjoy a tasty meal, and make new friends.

The Britten Club is a purpose-built, light and spacious day club which sits adjacent to Britten Court care home. Club members are welcome to use the superb facilities in the care home at no extra charge. There’s an in-house cinema, a hair salon and even a coffee shop. A pamper session in the hair salon is a popular choice!

Many day club members are living with dementia; our skilled team is fully trained and experienced in caring for older people living with dementia. They ensure that each member has an enjoyable and fulfilling time while they’re at the club.

How it works

Discover a friendly welcome and a flexible approach at our day care centre in Lowestoft.

Our Lowestoft day club is open 9.30am - 4pm.

You can buy a full day package or a half day – it’s completely up to you. The full day package costs £60 and includes a home-cooked three-course lunch. Or, book a half day from 9am until 12.30pm for £35.

There is no joining fee and you only pay for the days your loved one is with us. However, there is an extra charge for hairdressing and pamper sessions.

Yes, we offer a free trial session so that your loved one can experience the club, meet the team and decide for themselves.

Please call us or send us a message. We will then arrange to do a full assessment so we can understand your loved one’s care needs.

At our Lowestoft day club, every day is different. Members can choose what they’d like to do. We often do activities that we can work on together over time, like arts and crafts projects, or growing veg or flowers in the garden. 

We’ll sometimes take a trip out, particularly in the warmer months, but there’s always space for quiet time. If your loved one wants to have some time to themselves, we respect that and do anything we can to support them.

Some club members are living with dementia. Our skilled team is fully trained and experienced in caring for older people with this condition and will ensure that your loved one has a fulfilling time with us in the club’s secure and comfortable surroundings.
