Donna Henderson

Home Manager

Donna Henderson

I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team at Driffield Manor.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Adults’ Management) and have many years of experience managing care homes.

I believe effective leadership comes from being approachable, positive and transparent. Good communication, compassion and high standards are all key to providing outstanding care and ensuring that all residents and colleagues feel valued and supported. I can’t choose just one favourite part of my day, as I truly enjoy every aspect of my job, but seeing colleagues and residents happy is always a highlight.

A personal career highlight for me was becoming a Registered and Commissioning Manager, as well as taking part in a two-part TV documentary called Crisis in Care with Ed Balls. In 2021, I was also honoured to win the Registered Manager Award at the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on holidays and taking long walks with my dog, Spencer.

Hannah Turner
Hannah Turner
Deputy Manager

I started at Driffield Manor as a Care Assistant and have since worked my way up to Senior, Unit Lead, and now Deputy Manager. Along the way, I’ve completed my NVQ Level 3 in Lead Adult Care and my Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Adult Care.

To do this role well, I believe you need patience, resilience, and the ability to empower and motivate others. I love doing my walk-arounds each day. Seeing the home full of activity, staff enjoying their work, and residents relaxed and happy makes me proud of the team we’ve built here.

One of the biggest highlights of my career was helping to commission Driffield Manor alongside the home’s Registered Manager. Building the team from scratch and supporting everyone through the process was challenging but incredibly rewarding. It pushed me to grow and strengthened my leadership skills.

Outside of work, I love spending time at the beach with my husband, our two children, and our cockapoo, Lady. Rain or shine, there’s nothing better than fresh sea air and a family walk along the coast.

Customer Relations Manager

I joined Driffield Manor after many years in the travel industry.

In my role, I believe it’s important to be empathetic, engaging and a good listener. Clear communication is key, as well as being adaptable and able to multitask while maintaining high standards. My favourite part of the day is meeting residents and hearing their stories. I love chatting to them about their families, their hobbies and the holidays they have enjoyed.

I am proud to represent Care UK and to support families at such an important time of their lives. Being able to welcome people to Driffield Manor and guide them through their journey from first enquiry to moving in is a joy. It’s a real privilege to work in a brand-new home, showcasing all the beautiful rooms, dining facilities and lounges and I class myself very lucky to be able to call this my workplace.

Outside work, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family. Much of my week is spent supporting my daughter at competitive swim training, often from early morning starts to long weekends at competitions.

Head Chef

I am proud to be part of the team at Driffield Manor, bringing a strong background in hospitality and leadership to my role as Head Chef. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and an NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation and Cooking, and I have built my career across both care and restaurant settings.

Before joining Driffield Manor, I worked as a Head Chef in another care home and previously as a restaurant manager. These experiences have shaped my high standards and organised approach.

In my role, strong organisation, calmness under pressure and clear leadership are essential. I am passionate about training and developing others, supporting my colleagues to grow in confidence while consistently delivering excellent food. Creating meals that residents genuinely enjoy is at the heart of everything I do.

My favourite part of the working day is mealtimes. Seeing the smiles that good food brings to residents’ faces makes all the preparation worthwhile and is incredibly rewarding. The most important part of my role is ensuring every resident receives top-quality food that is nutritious, enjoyable and prepared with care.

I have been fortunate to enjoy many career highlights, including serving celebrities and managing large corporate charity events, which challenged and strengthened my skills.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, gaming, following football and spending time with my family.

Our experienced teams

Every day Care UK colleagues live our values of passionate, caring and teamwork to empower residents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. We work with you to shape the care your loved one receives, the food they’re served, the activities and experiences they want to do – even the ways they prefer to keep in touch with their friends and family.

Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
