It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one. At Gracewell of Fareham, our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo Care UK's in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is always provided.

I have been a chef for 32 years with a background in hotels and fine dining.

I have been a chef for 32 years with a background in hotels and fine dining. I have spent many years as a Head Chef and in the late 90's was fortunate enough to work with the late Gary Rhodes. In my spare time I am a keen cyclist with rides up to 100 miles. As well as the New Forest, one of my favourite places to ride is the French Pyrenees. The home here is my first foray into the care sector and it's both enjoyable and rewarding. I always look forward to producing home cooked nutritional meals for the residents to enjoy.

With 38 years in the caring profession, I have a wealth of knowledge. My role is to support the Home Manager and the team on the residential floor to ensure we continually deliver the highest level of care and kindness to residents at all times. I take pride in being a part of the team here and ensuring the residents' home is a clean and happy environment for everyone. I enjoy working with an amazing team and building relationships with the residents and their family members.

My name is Roxy and I have been here since 2018.

My name is Roxy and I have been here since 2018. I enjoy seeing the residents when they come down for coffee and cake and listening to their life stories. It is always great to see the resident's families and friends when they come in to visit their loved ones and getting to know them too.

I have been working here since it first opened in 2012, and I am therefore very close with not only the other members of the team but also all of the residents.

I enjoy welcoming new residents and their families, making their visits as pleasant as possible, as well as making it feel like home to everyone who lives here. Before I moved to England, I lived in Poland, The Netherlands and France. When living in Poland I studied law and sociology and then ultimately got a degree in sociology.

Ken and I have been married 73 years and when the time came for us to move somewhere else we relied on our daughter to find the right home.

Ken and I have been married 73 years and when the time came for us to move somewhere else we relied on our daughter to find the right home. This was the best one she found for us and we are thrilled with her choice. We have lived here for two years now. I was looking for good company and have made lots of friends here, the team are lovely, so polite and kind. Ken and I really enjoy the activities and we join in with absolutely everything. I just love the singers and musicians we have here, such fun.

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Each of our homes have a trained Infection Control and Prevention Champion – they are responsible for carrying out daily infection control audit and ensuring cleaning protocols are meticulously applied.
