It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one. At Parker Meadows, our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo Care UK's in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is always provided.

Matthew Smith

Having started here in 2021, I am thrilled to work within an organisation that shares the same vision and values that I hold in providing a high-quality service to those who need it most, whilst ensuring we maximise their independence and are able to live the lives they wish to lead.

I moved into care gaining my NVQ’S, then into administration gaining my Level 2 in Business Administration, maintenance, activities and then into management positions where I completed my degree in Business, Management and Leadership. I am now proud to use those skills to be able to support team members to develop their professional development skill sets to achieve outcomes at times they don’t think is possible, alongside watching them grow not only in confidence but also developing their knowledge base to support better quality care.

When I reflect, I always look back to the first day when I interviewed them and then look at where they are today and its always a lovely journey to look back on.

I started working here in 2019 as our Clinical Lead after working in another similar care setting. I am a qualified nurse, midwife and mentor. I have enjoyed the transition from a nurse, working on the care floor to becoming part of the management team and supporting all our team members to the best of my ability. I try to make every day an enjoyable day and love the interaction with the residents. 

I am involved with all aspects of the home which has earned me the fond name of ‘Busy Lizzie’ amongst my colleagues.

I have worked in care since 2008. In my role it’s incredibly important to understand the challenges an individual and their family have to consider when looking for a care home, and my experience and knowledge means I can always do my best to help them with any questions they may have so they are better supported to make the right choice for them.

I like to keep fit in my spare time. Having played different sports over the years, I still enjoy tennis, and recently I have started to enjoy walking/ hiking, something I plan to do more of around the UK in the future.

I joined the team at Parker Meadows in December 2021, prior to this I held a deputy role in another nursing home. I am a passionate nurse and qualified in 2013 in my home country of Romania before moving to England. I enjoy supporting the team to deliver exceptional care to all residents. I also support the management with the daily running of the home to ensure that we are all a success.

Zoe Kelly
Activities Lead

Since September 2012 I have been proud to have achieved NVQ 3 in both Health and Social Care and certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia. In my role I need to have good listening skills and understanding of others likes, dislikes and abilities; this enables me to plan both group and individual activities to allow residents to have fun whilst keeping their interests and personal beliefs as part of their lives.

Head Chef

I joined the Parker Meadows team in May 2022, and I have over 30 years’ experience in the catering and hospitality industry at both Head Chef and within management. I have a diploma in catering management including allergy awareness, and food safety and nutritional health.

I love to use my knowledge and experience to create mouth-watering and exciting menus for all the residents. I believe mealtimes should be the highlight of the day for residents. Colourful, balanced and healthy food can make a real difference and lift everyone’s spirits. I have a great team and we all strive for the best.

Adelina Serban
Business Administrator

I joined the Parker Meadows team in May 2023. I have a history within the care industry with my last role being a deputy manager of a supported living complex. I enjoy working in a varied role as this will test my skill set and enables me to learn and better support the team and residents. I am currently studying to complete my Level 5 health and social care. In my spare time I enjoy dancing and long seaside walks.

Vanda Smith
Team Leader

I have worked here since December 2012 and have achieved my NVQ Level 2, 3 and 4 in care and NVQ Level 5 Diploma in leadership. As well as winning Registered Manager award. Previous to that, I was an assistant Manager for Hampshire County Council for 20 years, overseeing the day-to-day running of the home supporting the Home Manager.

We need to have empathy, understanding, and be caring. I love interacting and listening to residents, showing them I really care. I work hard to fill their days with laughter and activity, both within the home and outside in our gardens. I enjoy talking and having a laugh with them, and maybe sit having a cup of tea and a natter with a slice of cake. Having that time with them makes a lot of difference.

I joined Parker Meadows in May 2023. This opportunity was exciting for me as I will be able to develop my career in a well-established company like Care UK. I believe my skills, experience and approach are very well suited for the job/home. I have enjoyed a varied career from care to housekeeping, most recently in Chichester Cathedral. With the team I hope to ensure our residents live in a clean and homely environment.

Beata Bojanowska
Receptionist

I have been working here since it first opened in 2012, and I am therefore very close with not only the other members of the team but also all of the residents. I enjoy welcoming new residents and their families, making their visits as pleasant as possible, as well as making it feel like home to everyone who lives here. Before I moved to England, I lived in Poland, The Netherlands and France. When living in Poland I studied law and sociology and then ultimately got a degree in sociology.

Maintenance

I joined Parker Meadows in July 2023, I have over 15 years’ experience in the education sector as a multi-site manager. With the skills that I have gained from my previous role, I work hard daily to ensure that the residents are always enjoying the high level of comfort and safety in their everyday living areas. I am proud to be a part of the Parker Meadows family.

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Each of our homes have a trained Infection Control and Prevention Champion – they are responsible for carrying out daily infection control audit and ensuring cleaning protocols are meticulously applied.
