Meet our friendly care team

Everyone at Sherwood Grange is passionate about delivering superb care to residents, and making each day special. Our management team, carers, clinical staff, housekeeping, catering and maintenance crews are selected for their skills and attitude, and they all play a part in supporting and caring for residents. Above all, they love what they do.

Kristina Jacunskiene

Home Manager

The team and I consider it a huge privilege to care for older people and are proud that their families trust us to care for them.

This is a lovely friendly and happy home, with a great family atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you here soon.

Biba Mijalceva
Deputy Manager

I became a registered general nurse in 1993, and I joined Care UK in September 2017 for a fresh challenge.

I’ve worked in different areas of nursing, including caring for people with complex disabilities and brain injuries.

I believe it’s important to be open and honest, and to have empathy and compassion in this role. I work as part of the team to ensure residents are always receiving the best, personalised care. I love making individual residents smile – we can all make a difference to a person’s day.

Throughout 2018 and 2019 we’ve been implementing our own vision and values, which the team have fully embraced. Sherwood Grange has also been working with Care UK in a ‘Good to Great’ programme to focus on achieving an outstanding rating at our next CQC inspection. We’re determined to do it!

Richard Harvey
Customer Relations Manager

I worked in the printing industry for 40 years.

When I was made redundant during the pandemic, I was keen to make a difference to people’s lives and give something back, which brought me to Sherwood Grange.

As the first point of contact for many families approaching Sherwood Grange for the first time, it’s important that I am approachable, understanding and professional. I always use the phrase ‘ears to listen and shoulders to cry on’. I find it very rewarding to help families through what can be a very emotional and challenging experience of finding a care home for a much-loved family member. If I can take away the pain and even the guilt that families feel, and make the process easier and less stressful, then that’s a job well done.

I do enjoy meeting and chatting to all the residents here at the home. I play the guitar and, before Christmas, I brought my guitar in and played them some song which they enjoyed. Family is the most important thing to me, and I love being with my family. I also like to relax by running, playing my guitars and watching Fulham FC play.

Kimberley Atkin
Lifestyle Coordinator

My background is in retail and fashion, and I’ve been able to bring my creative thinking and sense of fun directly into my role at Sherwood Grange.

Every day is so varied, which is fantastic, and I enjoy working on group activities with residents, as well as with them on a one-to-one basis, when I can get to learn more about them.

Rick, the manager here, ensures that every day here is full of fun for everyone. He also has the foresight to recognise your skills and strengths, even if you haven’t worked in care before. He gives you the freedom to take a role in different directions and explore different approaches.
