At Heather View, Care UK’s flagship residential and specialist dementia nursing care home in Crowborough, East Sussex, we’re marking our official Grand Opening on Wednesday 21st September.
It will be a day filled with entertainment to suit all ages. Please accept this as our warm invitation to come along and share the fun with our residents, friends, families and staff...
Starting at 11.00am, the party venue is Heather View’s indoor village - already a favourite meeting spot for our residents and their visitors. For this event, it will be given a village fete makeover, and feature special attractions including a craft market, face-painting, tombola (with some great prizes) and complementary therapy stalls.
To get everyone in the party mood, there will be live music throughout the day including jazz performed by the Gershwin Gang. For those who like magic, there will be amazing tricks and some balloon sculpting too, courtesy of magician Marc Lemezma.
At noon, Heather View’s official ribbon cutting ceremony will be carried out by Joan Brookbank, who runs an Alzheimer’s group in Crowborough, and Abbie Goldsmith, the winner of our competition to name Heather View. Shortly afterwards, a buffet lunch will be served at Doyle’s coffee shop and later, afternoon tea will be available at Tea on the Green. To round off this special day, there’s a free screening of Singing in the Rain in Heather View’s very own cinema at around 3pm.
Project Manager Sara Goodwin, hopes lots of people come along - even if they’re simply curious to see what’s behind Heather View’s stylish, contemporary exterior: “Heather View is sure to come as a pleasant surprise to anyone with preconceived ideas about old people’s homes” he says. “We offer style, luxury and comfort that wouldn’t look out of place in a 5 star hotel.”
“Events like these really put Heather View on the map and are a fun way for us to reach out and connect with our wider community.”
