Volunteers brighten up our day and our walls!

Home news

A group of young volunteers from the Prince’s Trust visited Pippin Unit recently as part of their community project to paint the rooms and the living areas.

They spent four days working, as well as chatting, away to us all and we invited them back to say thank you with a special tea party.

There were many smiles and thank yous and a big round of applause from the residents, who were all very impressed with the volunteers’ hard work and cheerfulness.

The young people were also very impressed with the many conversations they had with the residents and were grateful to have had the opportunity to help-out and so they said their thank yous by bringing along lots of cakes and desserts for everyone to share.

The MP for Sutton and Wallington visited the students to see their work on Tuesday last week.  The Guardian newspaper also visited the students to see their work and to speak to them about their experience.
