A love of cake helps to raise money for Children In Need

Home news

Heather View joined in with the fundraising for BBC Children in Need this year, and decided to combine the home’s love of a get-together and cake and raised a donation of £236 in an afternoon.

The team dressed in fancy dress and friends and relatives joined residents to take part in the tombola and enjoy the wonderful cakes well-wishers had made for the cake stall.

Customer Relations Manager Marion Wickison said: “It was a fun event and our chef Martin Higgins kindly made a cake for the ‘guess the weight’ competition.”

The chocolate gateau, decorated with almonds, strawberries and shortbread hearts, weighed 3.89kg and was won by hostess Marian Brooker.
