Visitors to Care UK’s Heather View care home in Crowborough were able to enjoy an exhibition of work by Sussex artists during an open day.
The home, in Beacon Road, opened in 2011 and immediately won a prestigious national care award for its innovative interior design and on March 16 visitors were invited to look around and meet the team.
The home’s Mark Sherriff said: “Heather View is a beautifully designed building with lots of natural light, which makes it the perfect setting for our exhibition of local artists’ work. Many residents are very creative themselves and we work hard to ensure they can keep up their hobbies and interests.”
The artists taking part in the exhibition on Heather View’s internal village green included Charlotte Williams, David Styles, Martin Ash and Gill Bustamante.
There was also the chance to view and try mobility equipment provided by Wealden Mobility in the home’s purpose built cinema during the day, which was open to all.
Mark added: “We also support people through our Friends of Heather View group, these are people, from the Crowborough area, who have, or have had a relative with dementia. They visit Heather View regularly, free of charge, to use our wide range of facilities, such as our cinema, hairdressers, café and village green area, because it is a relaxing place where families can enjoy a stress-free day out together and we can provide friendship and support to carers.”
