Halstead care home hosts falls prevention event

The team at Colne View care home is inviting people in Halstead and surrounding areas to a free event on Wednesday 4th November to find out more about preventing falls among older people.

From 1pm to 3pm, falls prevention specialist, Robert Outen, will be discussing tactics for avoiding falls as well as providing guidance on how to create safer environments, reduce balance problems and help maintain independence. 

After the event, Robert will be on hand to answer any questions.  There will also be an opportunity for members of the public to meet the team at Colne View and take a tour of the home.  

Omar Taylor, home manager at Colne View, said: “Here at Colne View, we seek to provide advice and support to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team here and to the wellbeing of residents, as trips and slips can occasionally lead to further health issues. It is imperative we create a safe environment for older people in the community and ensure the correct safety procedures are in place to reduce the risk of accidents.”
