Care home residents lead celebrations for unveiling of Woodland Walk suite

Colne View residents, Caroline Curtis and Guy Lister, were joined by the Deputy Mayor of Halstead, Shirley Diver, when they cut the ribbon and officially opened the care home’s Woodland Walk suite.

The Colne View team welcomed family, friends and local people into the care home on Dame Mary Walk to celebrate the unveiling of the suite which will provide specialist dementia care for 12 older people in Halstead.

To coincide with the celebrations, residents had their rolling pins at the ready for some festive baking, and there was a party atmosphere throughout the afternoon with live entertainment from local singer, Chris Gordon.

Home manager, Omar Taylor, said: “As with everything we do at Colne View, our residents, their families and the local community were at the heart of the event to commemorate the opening of the Woodland Walk suite.  We were delighted so many people joined us as we marked this important milestone, and we now look forward to welcoming residents to their impressive new home over the coming months.”

Colne View is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, nursing, and dementia care, as well as short-term day and respite care.  Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, coffee shop and hair salon, and there is plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
