Caring for the community at Winchcombe Place

Home news

A local care home is opening its doors to the community for a coffee morning on 14th September to discuss health and social care.

From 11am-12pm, local people are invited to join the Care UK team at Winchcombe Place to participate in an informal discussion led by Healthwatch, the health and social care services network. The session will work to help improve and shape the local services in Newbury, as well as provide visitors the opportunity to discuss their own experiences.

There will be also be a selection of homemade refreshments on offer for guests to enjoy throughout the event, all freshly prepared by the care home’s head chef, Gary Shaw.

Stephanie Jones, home manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “Health and social care services form an essential part of the community, so this coffee morning offers the public a great opportunity to learn about the local services in their area, as well as to share their own personal experiences in a supportive environment.

“Working with the community is really important to us at Winchcombe Place, so we are really looking forward to hosting this event for the community, and to welcoming the people of Newbury into our home.”
