Ipswich care home colleague in finals for national Care UK award

Home news

Paul White, a colleague at a care home in Ipswich, has been recognised for his dedication and commitment in Care UK’s national awards.

Paul is one of three finalists for the Maintenance Person of the Year category from over 100 Care UK care homes nationally.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awards recognise and reward individual and team excellence across Care UK’s RCS division. Paul, a member of the maintenance team at Prince George House was nominated for the RCS Stars award for “going the extra mile every day”.

The panel of judges found that Paul goes above and beyond his role in maintenance by supporting the leadership team and helping new recruits with their induction process, running errands for residents, hosting the home’s regular bingo night as well as taking care of the home’s pet dog called Scruff.

Jennie Rodger, home manager at Prince George House, said: “We are thrilled that Paul is a finalist in Care UK’s national RCS Stars awards. Paul makes everyone feel welcome at Prince George House, and always goes the extra mile to help others – he’s a vital part of the team. We wish Paul all the best at the awards ceremony.”

The winner of the Maintenance Person of the Year category will be announced at the annual RCS Stars Award ceremony on Thursday 17th November, held at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire.
