From 2pm-4pm, Colne View is inviting the community to join residents for an afternoon of coffee, cake and catch-ups to help raise money for the 2.5 million people facing cancer across the UK.
Guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon sharing a cuppa with residents, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats - all of which will be available for a small donation to Macmillan.
Every year Macmillan organises the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in kitchens, offices and village halls across the globe to fundraise for people facing cancer. Since the very first coffee morning in 1990 over £165.5 million has been raised for the charity, enabling them to support individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
Colne View manager, Susan Oates, explained why the home is taking part in ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning’: “The difficulty of facing cancer is a problem most of us know far too well, whether through watching the struggle of a friend or family member, or battling the illness ourselves, so we understand the importance of the work that Macmillan does.
“This event gives us a wonderful opportunity to invite local people, family and friends to join us for a fun afternoon, while raising funds to support the vital services provided by Macmillan. It’s set to be a great afternoon and we hope the local community will join the Care UK team who will have been busy whisking up a storm for the event!”
