Heather View is celebrating after one of its team members was recognised at a national awards ceremony.

Sharon Dawkins, team leader at Heather View, took home one of the coveted awards when she was crowned Team Leader of the Year.

The Care UK Stars awards recognise and reward individual and team excellence across Care UK’s 119 care homes. Sharon was commended on her leadership skills and dedication to her role during the six years she’s been at Heather View.

The panel of judges found that Sharon works tirelessly to ensure that her team is supported, and she always encourages colleagues to improve and develop their knowledge. Sharon actively supports the management team, and has played a key role in helping to put new processes in place – all while maintaining high standards in everything she does.

Natasha King, interim home manager at Heather View, said: “We are thrilled to hear that Sharon won Care UK’s Team Leader of the Year in this year’s national RCS Stars awards. It was a truly inspirational evening and brilliant to hear about the compassion and dedication of team members – as well as the positive impact this has had on residents, enabling them to live fulfilled lives.

“The team and I are delighted for Sharon and can honestly say it is so well deserved. Sharon is a vibrant and happy person who always goes above and beyond to ensure that residents and team members alike are happy, and she is much loved character here at Heather View - well done Sharon!”

Speaking about her award win, Sharon added: “I was thrilled and completely shocked when I heard my name called out at the awards ceremony. I always work hard to ensure that every team member is happy in their role so that we can deliver the best care for the residents, and I’m delighted this has been recognised in a national award.”
