Pear Tree Court will offer a range of services for older people in Horndean and beyond, and features 72 en suite bedrooms, as well as a range of facilities to promote independence.
Ahead of welcoming the first residents, the community were invited to the home’s ‘open days’, where local people had the opportunity to take a tour of the new £6.72 million care home, and talk to members of staff.
Special guest, George Hollingbery, MP for Meon Valley, was one of the first visitors to the new home. He learnt about the activities offered at Pear Tree Court, and had the opportunity to explore the facilities available to residents including the cinema, hairdressing salon, ballroom space, pub and café.
Home manager Ray Arnold said: “The team at Pear Tree Court is looking forward to building a community as residents begin to move into their new home. We are really proud of the environment that has been created, and every last detail here has been considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. We’d like to thank George for visiting Pear Tree Court and taking a tour of the residents’ new home.”
George Hollingbery added: “I was delighted to be able to take a first look around the newest care home in Horndean which will provide the local people with excellent care services for the future, and also over 100 new job opportunities for the community. A great level of detail has been paid throughout every part of the building, and I’m sure that the first residents will be incredibly comfortable in their new home.”
