Join Armstrong House for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Armstrong House is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 20th April, from 11.30am-3pm, the team at Armstrong House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Armstrong House has organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include a royal fashion show with outfits from each decade since the Queen was born and music from each era, performed by the team and residents. There will also be live entertainment from Stevie Halliday, a traditional British buffet and complimentary refreshments will be served. Visitors will also have a chance to meet Armstrong’s House friendly team and take a closer look at the home.

Shirley Summerbell, home manager at Armstrong House, said: “Care Home Open Day provides residents and the Care UK team with a fantastic opportunity to welcome the local community into the home. There is already a buzz around the home, as residents prepare for the big day. We hope that the people of Gateshead will join us in celebrating the Queen’s birthday and making this year’s Care Home Open Day one to remember.”
