Free virtual session explains all about the new social care cap

Home news

A care home in St Ives is inviting the community to learn more about the new social care reform through an information session taking place in late September.

On Thursday 29th September, from 2-3:30pm, Care UK’s Field Lodge, on London Road, will be hosting the virtual session for people within the community. Attendees will learn more about the social care cap and what it could mean for them and their loved ones.

The social care cap is a government initiative which places an upper limit on the amount of money an individual will be asked to pay towards their care and support needs.

The session will cover a host of important topics, including how the care funding system works currently, whether property must be sold to pay for care, how the care cap is likely to work in practice and how you might be able to place your own cap on care costs. The Field Lodge team will be welcoming Nicky Cave, a Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) Accredited Care Funding Specialist from Eldercare Group, to offer advice.

Linda Martinez, Home Manager at Field Lodge, said: “Here at Field Lodge, we appreciate that funding care isn’t always easy to understand, and that people are often left feeling confused when seeking guidance.

“Our aim is to help everyone feel more confident recognising how the new funding works, and to ensure that they are accessing the correct financial support available to them and their loved ones. The session will provide an informative overview, answer any concerns, as well as being a great opportunity to have any further questions answered.

“We’re looking forward to working with Nicky and welcoming all attendees – I’m sure this session will be incredibly helpful to many and encourage individuals to book their place now.”

To book your place, call Jo Molloy-Cruden on 01480 877638, or email johan.molloy-cruden@careuk.com.
