Robert Hall

Home Manager

Robert Hall

I have over 25 years’ experience working in health and social care.

In that time, I’ve gained invaluable knowledge within neurological, palliative and rehabilitation care.

As a home manager, there is a lot to think about, particularly from an admin point of view. Whilst managing budgets is important, I like to focus on Chapter House being a safe, caring and responsive environment. To ensure that happens, you need to be compassionate, open and transparent.

On a day-to-day basis, I feel extremely proud to be able to make a positive difference to residents’ lives. Seeing them and their families happy is very rewarding. It’s also fulfilling to be able to support colleagues achieve their own professional goals.

I like to spend my free time gardening and travelling.

Carol-Ann Ford
Carol-Ann Ford
Deputy Manager

I joined Chapter House in June 2023 as a Senior Care Assistant, and from the moment I walked in, I felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the home. With experience in healthcare since 2012, working in domiciliary and residential care, and also as an NVQ assessor, I was excited to step into my current role as Deputy Manager at Chapter House care home in March 2025.

Care UK has been incredibly supportive as I’ve progressed, and I feel lucky to work alongside such a fantastic team. Communication and organisation are key to what I do. It’s important to be approachable, positive and able to support both colleagues and residents.

My favourite part of the day is spending time with residents, hearing their stories and building relationships with their families. It’s those personal connections that make the role so special.

What makes me proud is knowing I’m making a difference. Whether it’s through supporting the team or seeing a resident smiling. I’m passionate about delivering person-centred care and creating an environment where everyone feels valued.

Outside of work, I love being a Mum, spending time with my family, gardening, cycling and nature walks.

Matt Justice
Matt Justice
Customer Relations Manager

At Chapter House, I’m often the first person that residents and their families meet. My role is all about welcoming residents and their loved ones and making sure they have all the information they need to settle in. I enjoy being a friendly, reliable point of contact and helping people make confident choices about their care.

I’ve worked in customer service for more than 21 years, with 12 of those in estate and letting agency roles — most recently as an assistant branch manager. Over the years, I’ve learnt how important it is to really listen to people, understand their needs, and make sure they are heard and supported. I chose my role at Care UK as I was keen to work with people face to face and help make a positive different in their lives.

The highlight of my day is always speaking with residents and my brilliant Care UK colleagues. It’s great to see people happy and thriving, and to know I’ve played a part in that.

I’m a proud dad and outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and daughter. I’m a gym goer, guitar player and a Hull City fan. I also love to watch NFL and going to watch ice hockey with my family.

Wellbeing and Activities Lead

I’ve worked in care since I was 18, taking on a variety of roles. I spent some time working in theatres for the NHS before returning to care homes. I hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and am proud to now lead the wellbeing and activities team at Chapter House.

To do my role well, it’s important to be outgoing, bubbly, kind, caring, organised and able to adapt to different situations. Having a real passion for what you do makes all the difference.

My favourite part of the day is taking the time to sit and talk with residents, learning about their life stories and knowing that I’ve made a positive difference to their day. One of my proudest achievements has been stepping into the lead activities role. Planning events and seeing residents and their families come together and enjoy life is incredibly rewarding.

The most important part of my role is making sure residents are happy and enjoy daily life at Chapter House.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and going on long walks with our labrador, Tilly, come rain or shine. I’m also a very creative person and enjoy crafts and crocheting.

Makayla O’Moore
Makayla O’Moore
Head Chef

Since I joined Chapter House care home I have progressed to become Head Chef which is one of my proudest career achievements. I hold Level 3 qualifications in both Food Hygiene and First Aid, and I’m passionate about delivering high-quality meals that residents enjoy.

Strong communication and listening skills are essential in my role, whether that’s listening to the needs of colleagues or understanding residents’ preferences. My aim is to ensure everyone is well-fed and satisfied.

My favourite part of the day is dinner service. It’s the time when all the preparation comes together, and I get to see residents enjoying what we’ve created.

The most important part of my role is making sure every resident is happy and nourished, and that mealtimes are something to look forward to.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking and playing video games.

Sally Abrahams
Sally Abrahams
Reception Lead

I’m incredibly proud to work at Chapter House care home, where we’re committed to providing the best care possible. The most important part of my role is ensuring that all residents are safe, happy and content.

I have 6 years of experience in administrative and support roles, working with individuals who face a range of challenges, including learning, physical, mental health, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, as well as those on a dementia journey. Before joining Care UK, I spent five years working in customer service within the holiday sales industry.

What I enjoy most about my role is the variety. Every day is different, and I love seeing all the lovely residents and interacting with their families and friends. It’s always heartwarming to be part of such a supportive environment.

One of my proudest career moments was preparing an annual report for Humber NHS Foundation Trust and having an article published in the Hull Daily Mail in 2016 on mental health awareness.

Outside of work, I enjoy horse-riding, walking, eating out and visiting the theatre.

Emma Moulson
Emma Moulson
Housekeeping Lead & IPC Lead

I’ve been part of Chapter House since before we even opened to residents, and it’s been an incredible experience to watch the home grow and evolve into what it is today. My background includes training in infection prevention and control (IPC), as well as previous experience in housekeeping and home care.

Before taking on my current role, I worked as a housekeeper, and I now lead the housekeeping team as well as act as the IPC Lead. I believe being organised, planning ahead, having a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for the job are all essential. Flexibility is key too as no two days are ever the same.

My proudest moment has been setting up the housekeeping team and seeing how brilliantly the team has come together. Even when challenges arise, the team always pulls together, which makes me incredibly proud.

What I enjoy most is spending time with residents, getting to know them and making sure they’re content and happy in their environment. It matters deeply to me that the home looks, smells and feels clean and welcoming.

For me, the residents’ happiness is always the most important part of what we do.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to the gym and spending time with my family.
