Emma Fox

Home Manager

Emma Fox

I’ve worked for Care UK for over 15 years.

My first experience of the organisation was when my grandfather was in a Care UK home. As a relative, I found visiting him in his home to be an amazing, positive experience. He was cared for by an incredible team. I was very impressed.

One of the best things about this role is seeing the difference a positive experience or conversation can make to a resident. Seeing smiles and hearing laughter every day around the home makes me so proud to work here and to work in a care setting.

I continue to learn new things every day, and I have lots of aims for the home, including developing our environment to make it even better, and to make residents’ wishes come true. Big or small, we make people’s dreams a reality. For example, when a resident wanted to be a bride for the day to relive her big day, we supported her to wear her wedding dress and I walked her up the aisle.

Lifestyle Coordinator

I’ve been part of the Stanecroft team for seven years, and I joined because I kept hearing that Care UK was such a good organisation to work for. You’re supported to learn and progress your career here: I’ve done my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, which has definitely been a career highlight for me.

There’s a very strong family atmosphere at Stanecroft, with strong bonds between the team and the residents and their families. I’m committed to ensuring that the residents are happy and having fun each day. I do whatever I can to make that happen, whether it’s working one-to-one with someone, or getting everyone together for a singalong or some baking.

When I’m not at work my twins keep me busy. You can often find me horse riding too.

Head Chef

I’ve been part of the Stanecroft team for several years. I joined the home from a background working in head and executive chef roles to achieve a better work/life balance (cheffing in restaurants and hotels is well known for its anti-social hours!).

While working in a care home is a very different working environment to the one I was used to when I joined the team, this role has continued to challenge me. For a start, it’s important that, as Head Chef, I understand the needs and preferences of every resident we care for.

I’ve also developed a great kitchen team around me, who I’m very proud of. We work well together and our combination of skills means we’re well placed to deliver the best menus and service for residents.
In my free time I enjoy gardening, canal and river cruising, and, obviously, cooking!

Senior Team Leader

I always worked in the care industry, and I was delighted to join Care UK, as I had heard many wonderful things about Stanecroft. It has a good reputation in the area.

The most important part of my role as Senior Team Leader is to be approachable, and work as part of the team to achieve results. I think it’s important in the role to be happy, empathetic, team player, good listener and as well as a fun person to be around.

My favourite part of each day working within the home is when a resident smiles, when you're able to sit and chat and having laughs with the residents. I find it very rewarding to see joy amongst the residents and in the home.

Outside of working hours, I love to spend times with my family and friends, and taking my beloved dog Bailey for a walk. I also have an allotment which I enjoy working on.

I am proud of my role as Team Leader. Being able to teach and set an example to staff, supporting them and seeing them achieve their goals.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.
