Care UK helps brighten the lives of local pre school children with a donation of £1000

Company news

Determined to keep the school open, St Stephens's committee have worked tirelessly to raise additional funding through various events. The latest of these events was a Glad Rags charity ball and raffle held at the town hall on the 1st April, where the committee raised a massive £1900. There was more good news when the committee's secretary Pamela McClean became aware of a scheme run by her employer Care UK.

Care UK, based in Colchester Business Park, is a national provider of health and social care services and employees over a thousand people in Essex alone. The company operates a matched funding scheme, which supports and encourages employees to raise money for local charities and good causes. As part of the scheme, Care UK has made a donation of £1000 to the St Stephens Pre School.

Angela McQuintty, Pre school manager, was delighted with the donation, which will enable the school to buy new toys and equipment for the children. She said:
"Everything is so expensive as it has to be very robust. A new climbing frame can cost as much as £850 which is money we just didn't have before this."

Donna Cousins, Care UK's regional manager, who will present the cheque to the school on Friday 26th May said:
"We are delighted to make this donation. Care UK is committed to working with local communities to support causes such as this and we are tremendously proud of what Pamela has achieved."
