From 2pm the grounds of the home, in Frinton Road, will be packed with stalls, live entertainment, dancing and refreshments that will include a barbecue.
The free-to-enter event has lots of fun for the young and young at heart, including line dancing, a bouncy castle, a tin-can alley and a burst the balloon contest that promises to get very messy - they are filled with shaving foam.
There will also be stalls featuring bric-a-brac, clothes, tarot readings and homemade cakes, and there will be an old-fashioned sweet barrow.
Home manager Mike Parris said: “Some of the residents are planning to help out on the stalls on the day and they are all looking forward to meeting the visitors to the home. They love to have children around and many of their own children and grandchildren will be joining us on the day.
“We are a very family-focussed home and lots of the residents’ relatives are taking part in the day. Our clairvoyant is the daughter of one of our residents.
“The line dancing troupe are very popular with the residents who will join in and I’m sure they will be encouraging visitors to the celebrations to join in too.”
Little Holland Hall provides quality, individually-tailored, short term respite breaks, as well as nursing, palliative and end of life care. Activities play an important role in the home, helping to maintain residents’ independence and wellbeing. Gentle movement to music, pampering sessions, games and visits from local entertainers are typical activities residents like to get involved in, and everyone loves making a fuss of the Pets as Therapy dog who visits.
