New home manager takes the helm at Montfort Manor

A care home in Ashford has announced the appointment of its new home manager.

Bringing more than 15 years’ experience in the care sector to her new role, Julie Pannell-Hurn, from Dover, will lead the team at Care UK’s Montfort Manor, on Kennington Road.

Prior to joining Care UK, Julie worked as an Operations Support Manager, working alongside administration and the CQC (Care Quality Commission) with a focus on improving care homes and ensuring residents’ wellbeing remains at the core of all decisions.

Julie’s new position will see her take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Montfort Manor, which provides residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 68 residents. Bringing a holistic approach to care, Julie will ensure residents are encouraged to live active and fulfilling lives while supporting them to remain as independent as possible.

Commenting on her new position, Julie said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the home manager for Montfort Manor. Care UK has a fantastic reputation within the industry with values and principles that align with my own. I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team in an environment that is welcoming, supportive and friendly for both residents and team members.

“I’m particularly looking forward to working with a new team and supporting their future development to ensure that we continue to provide the best care possible. Of course, I am most excited about getting to know the residents and providing them with high quality, personalised care, ensuring they continue to live enriched, independent lives.”  

Montfort Manor is a purpose-built care home which has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home provides full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for older people in Ashford, as well as short-term respite care, and incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
