Care UK shortlisted for prestigious Health Investor Award

Care UK is proud to be a finalist at the Health Investor Awards in the Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year - Large Group category

The Health Investor Awards have recognised the very best in health and social care across two decades. Their various categories include advisory and finance, clinical services, and property. Care UK has been shortlisted for the prestigious accolade of Residential Care Provider of the Year in the Large Group for three years in a row, winning the award in both 2022 and 2023.

Care UK’s continued commitment to care quality, engagement with residents and their relatives, and its continued growth are just some of the reasons that the provider is a strong contender for this year’s award.

Care UK homes are 100% compliant with the care regulators in Scotland and Wales and, in England, 93% of homes are rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, which is one of the highest scores from larger providers, in addition to this percentage being a year-on-year improvement.

Care UK is dedicated to sustainability and protecting the planet, and this year reinvigorated our Environmental, Social, Governance programme with a variety of initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring we act as a responsible corporate citizen.

This has included securing official accreditation for our plans to be carbon neutral by 2040; ensuring we have at least one Sustainability Champion in every home; and undertaking projects like our Wildlife Gardens campaign to attract pollinators and birds to our properties.

More than 99% of our general waste was diverted from landfill last year and we also have a continued commitment to reducing unnecessary pharmaceutical waste. Care UK also made a £1 million investment in LED lighting across the estate in 2024, and introduced a salary sacrifice vehicle scheme for field-based roles to complement our cycle to work scheme for colleagues working in our homes and offices.

Care UK encourages colleagues to give back to their local communities, and continues supports national causes, such as the Care Worker’s Charity. In 2024 alone, our matched funding scheme – which supports colleagues who fundraise for charity – saw an additional £38,000 donated to local and national causes.

The winners of the Health Investor Awards will be announced on 4th June in London.
