I’ve worked in care for nearly two decades.

I started out as a Care Assistant, but have been in management roles for nearly ten years. I joined Care UK because I was keen to find a new challenge. I’d been hearing a lot about the company and I liked the look and feel of the home when I first looked around.

In my role it’s important to listen and support your team, residents and family members. You need to be proactive and think outside the box. I enjoy helping the team to progress in their careers while ensuring that they’re delivering the best quality care. Above all, I believe that Marlet Manor is going great things and has huge potential thanks to our brilliant, hard-working team.

I chose to work at Care UK because of its strong values and genuine commitment to person-centred care. The organisation’s focus on compassion, dignity, and quality aligns closely with my own values, and I wanted to contribute to a service that truly makes a difference to people’s lives.

A Customer Relations Manager needs empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trust quickly. Being organised, approachable, patient, and professional is key, as well as being able to listen carefully and respond thoughtfully to the needs of residents and their families.

My favourite part of the day is connecting with residents and families, whether that’s welcoming someone new, answering questions, or offering reassurance. Knowing that I’ve helped someone feel supported and confident is incredibly rewarding.

I am most proud when I know I have helped create a positive first impression and ongoing experience for residents and their families, and when my support contributes to a welcoming, trusting environment.

The most important part of my role is being a consistent, compassionate point of contact for residents and families, ensuring clear communication, trust, and a positive experience from the very first interaction.

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
