Led by a steadfast management team and monitored and regulated by Care UK’s internal governance panel, our robust service improvement plan validates that the care we deliver meets the highest standards across all five key areas: Safe, Caring, Effective, Responsive and Well-Led.


Delivering a safe service

Our latest internal inspection found that safety is firmly embedded in our culture at Dashwood Manor. Inspectors noted that staff are well trained and confident in recognising and reporting any safeguarding concerns, ensuring residents are protected while maintaining their independence. The report confirmed that risk assessments, medication management and infection control processes are robust, with 100% compliance in training and hygiene standards. Staffing levels were found to be consistent and safe, with no agency use at the time of inspection, providing continuity and reassurance for residents. Inspectors also highlighted that regular audits and incident reviews ensure lessons are learned quickly and improvements embedded across the home.

Delivering a caring service

The inspection highlighted that residents and relatives view Dashwood Manor as a warm, compassionate and person-centred home. Inspectors observed staff taking time to get to know each individual, showing kindness, respect and empathy in every interaction. Families praised the open communication and welcoming atmosphere, with one relative sharing in the report, “We can relax knowing Mum is in good hands.” The inspection confirmed that privacy and dignity are consistently respected, and families are made to feel part of the community. Our 9.8 rating on carehome.co.uk was also recognised as evidence of our ongoing dedication to heartfelt, high-quality care.

Delivering an effective service

Inspectors found that care at Dashwood Manor is evidence-based and personalised, promoting health, independence and wellbeing. The report confirmed 99% overall training compliance, meaning staff are skilled, confident and well supported. Nutrition and hydration were identified as key strengths, with creative initiatives such as Waterade and hydration jellies helping to reduce the risk of dehydration and infection. The inspection also observed relaxed, sociable mealtimes and praised the collaboration between care and physiotherapy teams, ensuring residents receive tailored support to remain active and well.

Delivering a responsive service

The inspection report described life at Dashwood Manor as “vibrant and inclusive”, with activities and events shaped around residents’ interests and abilities. Inspectors noted that residents are encouraged to stay connected and engaged, enjoying opportunities such as pet therapy, gentle exercise, themed events and community outings. Feedback from residents and families is actively sought and acted upon, demonstrating a strong culture of listening and improvement. The report also praised the home’s approach to end-of-life care, describing it as compassionate, dignified and sensitive, with each person’s preferences respected and families fully supported.

Delivering a well-led service

Our internal inspection recognised that Dashwood Manor benefits from strong and approachable leadership that promotes teamwork, positivity and pride. Staff told inspectors that management are “very approachable and lead by example”, creating a culture of openness and recognition where everyone feels valued. The report commended the visible leadership presence within the home and noted the energy and engagement across the whole team. Governance processes and quality assurance frameworks were found to be robust, with clear oversight from Care UK’s regional and national governance teams. The inspection concluded that continuous improvement, transparency and collaboration underpin the home’s success, ensuring Dashwood Manor remains a place where residents and staff alike can thrive.
