Visitors will be able to pop in anytime between 3pm-7pm to meet the Care UK team and take a tour around the new facilities, as well as enjoy free refreshments and musical entertainment.
Glastonbury Court, on Glastonbury Road, provides specialist dementia care for up to 80 residents as well as flexible day care in the adjacent Glastonbury Club. The new home first opened its doors to residents on 18th January, 2016.
Jennie Rodger, home manager at Glastonbury Court, said: “Residents and the Care UK team here are all really looking forward to the opening event. As well as opportunities to take a look around the new home and adjacent day club, we will have a 50s singer, a gramophone DJ and delicious refreshments prepared by our chef.
“All are welcome to pop in and join in our celebrations, especially those who may not have had the chance to visit us before. I look forward to welcoming you.”
The open celebration event will also mark the end of Care UK’s £60 million Suffolk development project, to fulfil Suffolk County Council’s vision for older people’s care. Since 2012, the project has seen 10 new care homes and 10 day care centres built across the county, each with modern and spacious facilities that will meet the residential, nursing and dementia care needs of older people in Suffolk now and in the future. Glastonbury Court in Bury St Edmunds is the tenth and final care home to open as part of the project.
