Care UK is proud to be partnering with ‘Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint’, a new feel-good Christmas comedy feature film, launching in cinemas on 6th November.
The film explores themes of social isolation, community spirit and engagement, meaningful occupation and person-led care in a warm, heartfelt and humorous way. Through its story and characters, Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint celebrates the positive impact that friendship, connection and a sense of purpose can have on people's lives.
While not filmed in a Care UK home, the themes explored in the film align closely with Care UK’s own purpose, values and approach to care – making it a natural partnership and shining a light on the important role care homes play in supporting older people to live connected and meaningful lives.
Feelings of loneliness and social isolation can affect people at any time of year, particularly older people who may have fewer opportunities to spend time with others or be missing loved ones. Taking part in activities, sharing everyday moments and enjoying regular social interaction can make a real difference. For residents, opportunities to build friendships, enjoy companionship and feel connected to those around them can help support emotional wellbeing throughout the year.
Helping to tackle social isolation at Christmas
We encourage residents to stay connected to their local community. From taking part in events, activities and outings to enjoying visits from local schools, community groups and volunteers, these opportunities bring people of all ages together. They create meaningful moments, spark new friendships and help residents remain involved in the communities they know and love. By nurturing these connections, residents can enjoy a greater sense of belonging and purpose.
Discover our community connections
We believe that great care starts with understanding what matters most to each person – from the smallest details to the stories that have shaped their lives. That’s why residents and their families are involved every step of the way, with personal choices at the heart of tailored care planning. By taking the time to discover each person’s interests, preferences and experiences, our teams can provide support that promotes dignity, independence and choice.
