Having fun, keeping active and delivering the best of care is what living at Hadrian Park care home is all about.
The team at our Billingham care home provides residential and dementia care, as well as day care and short-term respite care. We learn as much as we can about your loved one, from the jobs they’ve done and the places they’ve lived to their routines and interests. We then work hard to incorporate that information into their daily life at the home.
A person-centred home
Residents made decisions about their care and the way we run Hadrian Park, and we’ve carefully adapted the fabric of the home to reflect their interests and needs. As many of our residents are living with dementia, reminiscence can be the key to calming any anxiety and enhancing their lives. We have created a vintage-style tea room and we’ve decorated part of the home to look like an old Post Office. We’re also raising funds to create our own shop plus a sweet cart.
On each of the home’s three suites there’s a special room, including a reminiscence room designed in the style of the 1930s and ‘40s, a bar, and a lovely contemporary lounge (perfect for celebrations and family visits). We’ve recently used a £10,000 grant to transform our courtyard gardens into an inviting, interactive dementia-friendly space that’s full of raised flower beds and seating areas.
Another new addition that has transformed residents’ lives is Todd, our pet dog. Residents take him for walks, and help to care for him. He’s made a huge difference to so many people.
